Román Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Idaho Falls in Walk-Off Win
|
In a low-scoring game between the Idaho Falls Chukars and the Grim Reapers, pitcher Vicente Romero was masterful on the mound. The Idaho Falls left-hander was named the player of the game in Idaho Falls's 2-1 win. Idaho Falls reliever Juan Rúbio was credited with the win, to go to 2-2. Francisco Rivera took the loss for Grim. The Idaho Falls Chukars have an impressive 15-8 record.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the 11th. With Idaho Falls trailing 1-0, Jesús Román hit a fastball from Francisco Rivera to right for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Chukars had a walk-off win.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Romero.
