Reapers Go Down to Defeat, 5-4
|
In a close game at The Heron Refuge, the Hammond Herons edged the Grim Reapers, 5-4. Hammond right fielder John O'Neil earned the nod as player of the game after he went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Losses have been few and far between for the Reapers, who are now 14-4.
An important at-bat for Hammond came with one out in the bottom of the third. With the bases loaded, O'Neil drew a walk, driving in 1 run, which contributed to the Herons win.
"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said O'Neil.
