Expos Nip Generals, 3-2
|
The Expos had to overcome a good performance from Washington pitcher Mario Villalobos to claim a 3-2 win at Washington Park. Villalobos went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The win lifts Niagara Falls to a record of 7-9.
A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the second inning when the Expos sent teenager Dan Workman to the plate against Generals hurler Mario Villalobos. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a double off a 1-0 fastball to score 2.
"We came out with the short end of the stick," said Washington skipper Jacob Curtis.
