Reapers Win at Hammond, 3-2
|
Grim rode a good effort from starter Edward Scarborough to beat the Hammond Herons at The Heron Refuge. The final score was 3-2. Scarborough picked up the win for Grim, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. The Grim Reapers, now 13-3, have hit the ground running this season.
In the top of the 7th, pinch hitter Carlos Evangelho gave Grim the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Reapers had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out home run off Hammond pitcher Chad Li changed that -- and Grim went on to win.
"It'd be nice to win by four or five runs," Evangelho said, "instead of holding our breath the whole game."
