The Walla Walla Walleye got a magnificent performance from pitcher Andrew Moody, who muffled the Washington offense en route to a tight 2-1 Walleye win at Walleye Tank. Moody went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 1-0. The Walleye, with just their 4th win in 14 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
The Walleye beat the Generals in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the single Luis Delvalle produced in the bottom of the first. Batting against Washington pitcher Iván Vázquez, he gave his team a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"We came out with the short end of the stick," said Washington skipper Jacob Curtis.
