Airmen Suffer 3-1 Setback
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars got a magnificent performance from pitcher Albert Sierra, who muffled the Alameda offense en route to a tight 3-1 Chukars win at Alameda Field. Sierra was the winning pitcher and moves to 2-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 3 walks. Ramón Granados, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Fytor Ceia drew 1 walk against the Airmen. In the top of the first inning, he hit a sacrifice fly, putting Idaho Falls in front, 1-0.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Ceia told a Idaho Falls Today reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
Alameda, at 3-9, is off to a poor start in 2028.
