Nuggets Lose to Middies, 7-6
|
Grafton designated hitter Orlando Reyes played a vital role in his team's 7-6 triumph over Rocky Mountain. He was 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times for Grafton. Lynwood Matos got the save, the 1st for him this season. The win pushes Grafton to a record of 2-1.
Tied up with the Nuggets in the top of the sixth, the Middies got a boost from center fielder Jack MacAsgill. With runners on 1st and 3rd, MacAsgill saw a 2-2 changeup from Nathaniel Riley and hit a 3-run home run to break the stalemate and put Grafton on top, 5-2.
In postgame comments to the Grafton Today, Reyes said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
