Late Rally by Torch Seals 6th Straight Win
|
The Mancelona Torch got a stellar effort from pitcher Jason Millward, helped Mancelona score a 2-1 win over the visiting Myrtle Beach Seahawks. In 8 innings, Millward surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Raúl Medina was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Kyle Vandenbrink provided some late-game heroics for Mancelona. In the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a 2-2 curveball from Greyfriars Bobby and propelled Mancelona to a 2-1 lead.
"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager Jerry Moore.
The Seahawks have now dropped 5 straight.
