Bulls Deal Hawks 5-3 Setback
|
The Belleville Bulls picked up a win at Hawks Field, knocking off the Highwood Hawks, 5-3. Starting pitcher Héctor Aguilar played a key role in the triumph. Aguilar went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 10-5. Shackleford Stanwick earned the save for Belleville, his 8th.
Walt Lathon contributed an important at-bat in the top of the seventh. With the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly. It was one at-bat that helped send Belleville to the win.
"It makes it a little nicer in the clubhouse when we win," said Lathon. "It eases the tension."
Belleville, at 43-34, sits in 4th place in the Menard's A.
