The Mancelona Torch faced a tough opponent in Delaware pitcher Goodluck Obasanjo, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Torch Field by a final score of 4-2. Obasanjo went 7 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. Tim Novak got credit for the save for Mancelona. It was his 4th of the year. Mancelona occupies second place in the Menard's A at 46-30.
Early in the game, left fielder Adrijan Markovski had a 2-run single for Mancelona. It was his 26th hit of the season and put the Torch on top, 2-0.
"This was a good win for us," said Markovski. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
