Seahawks Turn Back Delaware, 2-1
|
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks went home winners at Carrier Field, thanks in large part to starter Raneem Zogby. Zogby silenced the Delaware 1787 BC, enabling Myrtle Beach to grab the 2-1 win. Sam Schultz was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 9 of 9 save opportunities. The 9th-place Seahawks raised their record to 28-36.
The Seahawks got a big at-bat from Francisco Moreno. For the game, Moreno went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Myrtle Beach a 2-0 lead.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Myrtle Beach manager Chris Brown.
