Chiefs Come Back Late to Clip Dragoons
|
Dragoons War Memorial Stadium was the site of a exceptional pitchers' duel.
The Connetquot Chiefs got a magnificent performance from pitcher Eric Foster, who muffled the Louisiana offense en route to a tight 2-1 Chiefs win at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. Connetquot reliever Carlos Bernard picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Greg Kennamer was saddled with the loss.
The most important at-bat for Connetquot came in the top of the ninth inning, when shortstop Cristián Ramírez stroked a 1-1 sinker to center for a run-scoring single, putting Connetquot up, 2-1.
"Runs were at a premium," said Connetquot manager Don Nelson.
Their 18-20 record puts the Chiefs 8th in the Menard's A.
