Xu Cheng did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Provo Mango from losing, 5-4, to the York Revolution at Mango Yard. Cheng was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Gary MacHardy, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 4 runs on 10 hits in 8 innings. At 12-15, the Revolution find themselves in 9th place in the Menard's A.
With runs few and far between, the Revolution had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for York came in the top of the third. That's when center fielder Ernesto Deleón delivered a 3-run home run. The home run was hit off Grover Lowdermilk and made the score 3-0, Revolution. Deleón was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
Deleón told the York Herald: "I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more.' You win just by scoring more runs."
