Highlanders Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Lannister United
|
The Lannister United Lionhearts and Asheville Highlanders were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Lionheart Field.
Andrés Escobar had a good game, even if his team, the Lannister United Lionhearts, did not. Lannister United dropped a 6-3 decision to Asheville at Lionheart Field. Elend Venture picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 3-6.
Esteban Olivo's at-bat in the top of the sixth was significant, coming with the bases loaded and the game tied, 1-1. The Asheville third baseman hit a bases-clearing double off Gustavo Tobías to put the Highlanders up.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Olivo told the Asheville Times.
Asheville, at 44-52, sits in 7th place in the Premier AA.
