The Austin Rangers and Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids provided some drama at Rangers Stadium.

Art Adams pitched a good game, but his team, the Austin Rangers, still dropped a 3-1 decision to the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at Rangers Stadium. Ilie Paunescu picked up the save for Northern Virginia, his 22nd of the year.

In the top of the fifth, Northern Virginia second baseman Munemori Ohara had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two outs, Ohara stroked a 2-run single to right-center. It made the score 3-1, Northern Virginia. For the game, he went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs.

Ohara told a Northern Virginia Gazette reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
