Eclipse Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Lionhearts
|
The Northville Eclipse picked up a win at Old-Timers Park, knocking off the Lannister United Lionhearts, 4-1. Starting pitcher Zalontae Hillary, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Hillary picked up the win for Northville, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 9-7. Rafael Méndez, credited with the save, is now 22 for 26 in save opportunities.
Northville took the lead in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Cosmo Bjorkenheim stroked a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Eclipse.
"We were in it," said Lannister United manager Ernesto Reyes. "We just didn't score enough runs."
The Eclipse now have a record of 44-41.
