Lannister United got an elite performance from starting pitcher Currito Melena in taking a 16-1 decision over the Chesapeake Continentals. Melena went 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-0. The second-place Lionhearts lifted their record to 44-34.

Though there was little doubt about Lannister United's eventual triumph, designated hitter John O'Day made a particularly significant contribution in the bottom of the seventh inning when he hit a 3-run home run off Jesús Colón. O'Day went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3.

"We were firing on all cylinders today," said Lannister United Lionhearts manager Ernesto Reyes.
