Screaming Eagles Dump Continentals, 3-2

The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles got a stellar performance from pitcher Sy-ing Tah, who handcuffed the Chesapeake offense en route to a 3-2 win at Mercer Island Grounds. The winner was Mercer Island reliever Paris Nowlin, now 2-2. The loser was Francisco Sandoval. Mercer Island has an impressive 52-22 record.
Jacob Herman drove in one run for Mercer Island. In the bottom of the seventh, with the teams deadlocked, 2-2, Herman delivered for the Screaming Eagles. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Mercer Island on top, 3-2.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Herman, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
