Highlanders Sneak Past Lionhearts, 5-4
|
Lannister United got a terrific performance from pitcher Won-min Yi, but it wasn't enough to beat the Asheville Highlanders. Asheville won the Asheville Park contest, 5-4. Yi was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The Highlanders now own a record of 31-42.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the ninth, Marshall Attwood had a chance to end it. Lannister United pitcher Yoshida Kudo had other ideas. But with two outs, Attwood reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. The Highlanders had the walk-off win.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Attwood. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
