Screaming Eagles Get 6-3 Win Versus Athletic Club KC Academy
|
Mercer Island pitcher Hiro Kurasawa did his part in helping his team beat the Athletic Club KC Academy, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Kurasawa got the win, improving to 5-1. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Kurasawa allowed 1 earned run. Armando Garay closed it out for his 1st save.
Also doing his part was right fielder Raúl Chávez, who stroked a 2-run single in the top of the first for Mercer Island. For the game, Chávez went 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
"We'll savor this win," Kurasawa told the Mercer Island Citizen, "then get ready for the next game."
Mercer Island is now 49-21, 8 games up in the Premier AA.
