The Northville Eclipse picked up a win at Old-Timers Park, knocking off the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 6-3. Starting pitcher Zalontae Hillary played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Hillary, now 8-7. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 5. Rafael Méndez nailed down his 16th save.
Also having an impact was first baseman Koen van den Bogaert, who stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third for Northville. For the game, van den Bogaert went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Hillary.
Today's win puts Northville at 34-35, while Mercer Island falls to 48-21.
