Lionhearts Prevail, 3-1, Over Little Caesars
|
Fans who came to The Pizza Oven watched the Lannister United Lionhearts and the Little Caesars Hot N Readys fight to the finish.
Lannister United starter Kelsey MacGillivary pitched effectively against the Little Caesars Hot N Readys at The Pizza Oven. The right-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. MacGillivary was the winning pitcher and moves to 3-3. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 4 walks. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Pedro Tavárez.
Howard Barton was a key contributor to the win for the Lionhearts. In the top of the second with two out, the light-hitting second baseman stroked a single to center. He went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"You score one run, you're not going to win," said Little Caesars skipper Bill Russell. "You can have three Koufaxes and three Drysdales, you're still not going to win."
The Lionhearts saw their win-loss record go to 24-19. At the same time, the Hot N Readys fall to 17-26.
