The Little Caesars Hot N Readys did just enough to secure a 6-2 victory over the Phoenix Hotspur Youth at The Pizza Oven. Nobody did more than pitcher Kent Scalici, who captured player of the game honors. In 7.1 innings, Scalici surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The Hot N Readys sit in last place in the Premier AA with a record of 17-24.
Little Caesars took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, George St. Clair stroked a 2-run single to make it 4-2, Hot N Readys.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Little Caesars Hot N Readys manager Bill Russell. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
