San Antonio got a terrific game from shortstop Chris Harrell. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Lannister United, 5-4. Harrell was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Doug Freeth, who threw 108 pitches over 8 innings. The left-hander was charged with 4 runs on 9 hits. Manuel Torres locked down his 2nd save.
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic-born Carlos Pacheco came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded and the Lionhearts trailing 1-0, he hit a bases-clearing double to center to put Lannister United on top.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Pacheco told the Lannister United Chronicle.
With the win over San Antonio, the Lionhearts improved to 21-16.
