The Lionhearts faced a stiff challenge from Little Caesars pitcher Kent Scalici, but persevered to claim a win at Lionheart Field. The final score was 2-1. Scalici went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The win gives Lannister United a record of 10-9.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 1-1, pinch hitter Ron Morton won it for Lannister United. With a runner on 2nd, Morton hit a first pitch fastball from Filip Radyuhin for a run-scoring double, giving his team a 2-1 win.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Morton said in his postgame press conference.
