Asheville Park was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Asheville Highlanders and the Chesapeake Continentals.

The Asheville Highlanders got a stellar effort from pitcher Gus Gamble, helped Asheville score a 10-2 win over the visiting Chesapeake Continentals. Gamble, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 11, walking 4, and allowing 2 earned runs.

Tomás Valenzuela, who is tied for 2nd in the PAA in triples with 2, aided the Asheville cause with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the catcher was 2 for 5 with a triple and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once.

"The Highlanders definitely had our number," said Chesapeake manager José Flores.

At 12-6, the Asheville Highlanders have played well so far.
