Victory Over Lionhearts Takes Mercer Island to 9-6
|
Starting pitcher Jules Goux pitched well enough to help the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles beat the Lannister United Lionhearts by the score of 5-3. The Screaming Eagles raised their record to 9-6.
The Mercer Island triumph was a team effort. It included several important contributors, Kade Knowles not least among them. In the top of the fifth, the Mercer Island third baseman came to bat and hit a run-scoring double. It staked his team to a 2-1 lead.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Lannister United manager Ernesto Reyes.
