Nobles Fall Short, 6-2, at Pure Michigan
|
The Pure Michigan Great Lakers eeked out a 6-2 win versus the Bakersfield Nobles at Lansing Park. Nobody did more than pitcher José López, who captured player of the game honors. López picked up the win for Pure Michigan, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 10 hits. He now sports a record of 9-7. Esteban Ruíz, credited with the save, is now 6 for 10 in save opportunities.
Eric D'Angle aided the Pure Michigan cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the center fielder went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Bakersfield manager James Wheeler. "But we decided not to take it."
Pure Michigan now owns a record of 49-42.
