The Plymouth Quarry faithful were treated to a thrilling, walk-off win.
The Houston BC got a superb performance from pitcher Mike Owens, but the Rocks still won the game, 4-2. Owens was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Plymouth reliever Ken Shelton was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Katsuyoshi Takuda took the loss.
The Rocks were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when pinch hitter Carlos Álvarez turned a 2-2 slider from Katsuyoshi Takuda into a grand slam home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Plymouth a thrilling 4-2 win.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Plymouth manager Henry Henderson.
The 'W' lifts Plymouth's record to 47-42.
