Hotspur Reserves Fall Short, 4-2, at Milton
|
Floyd Long left his imprint on the 4-2 Milton win against the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves. Long, who was drafted in the two round of the 2021 draft, was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Manny Pérez picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-9. He struck out 5 in 7 innings. Santiago Paez notched his 2nd save in 3 chances.
Long had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the third. On a 1-1 changeup from John Ball, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Dogfish Head a 4-2 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Long.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Long.
The 9th-place Dogfish Head improved to 38-44.
