Reserves Take 10-1 Pounding
|
The Milton Dogfish Head got a stellar effort from pitcher Juan Lara, helped Milton score a 10-1 win over the visiting Athletic Club KC Reserves. Lara went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 4, and struck out 4. His record improves to 8-5. José Luján earned the save, his 4th, for the Dogfish Head.
Floyd Long was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once against the Reserves. In the bottom of the first inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run, putting Milton in front, 1-0.
"We took it on the chin today," said losing manager Hugh Howard.
With the win, the Dogfish Head have a record of 37-44.
