Joseph Gray exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Jerome Grounds.
The Houston shortstop had a field day in the 8-6 triumph over the Bakersfield Nobles, finishing 5-for-5.
"My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."
Gray must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Joseph Gray singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
Gray on the season is hitting .287 with no home runs. His stats include 30 RBIs and 22 runs scored.
