|
Royse City beat Bakersfield at Royse City Stadium, escaping with a 9-3 win. The win in large part was due to first baseman Terrence Eler, who earned player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Royse City is now 37-39, Bakersfield 39-37.
José Vargas's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth was significant for the Targaryens. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Royse City leading 4-3, the designated hitter hit a run-scoring single.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Eler.
