Victory Pushes Great Lakers Record to 42-34
|
Pure Michigan rode a fine outing from starter Jaime Carrión to victory over the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves at Lansing Park. The final score was 6-2. Carrión got the win, improving to 2-5. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. Carrión allowed 2 earned runs. At 42-34, Pure Michigan is in first place in the Premier AAA.
Ramiro Gonzáles was a key contributor to the win for the Great Lakers. In the bottom of the first with two out, the light-hitting catcher stroked a double to left. He went 2 for 3 with a double and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Pure Michigan manager Nick McLaughlin.
