Rocks Get Past Pure Michigan for 4-3 Win
|
Rio Bavin was superb against Pure Michigan. Bavin, who is tied for 6th in the PAAA with a 8.3 K/9 rate, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. Plymouth reliever Jim Meyer was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Rubén Rodríguez. Plymouth has now won 8 straight, while the Great Lakers have lost 3 in a row.
The game came to an abrupt end with one out in the bottom of the ninth. On a pitch from Rubén Rodríguez, Ned Durand drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It gave Plymouth the 4-3 walk-off win.
"Glad to get this win," said Bavin. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."
