Eduardo Molina never let the Boston Patriots find their groove. Throughout the game, Molina relied on his bread and butter, his slider, in pitching the Renaissance to a win. Molina got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 4 hits and walked 4 over 6.2 innings. Molina allowed no earned runs. Bruce Wright finished the game for Detroit and earned his 10th save.
Tied up with the Patriots in the top of the fifth, the Renaissance got a boost from shortstop Kenneth Noid. With a runner on 2nd, Noid saw a 1-1 fastball from Jorge Aguirre and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Detroit on top, 1-0.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Noid.
At 32-57, Detroit is in last place in the Premier League.
