Hotspur Reserves Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Rocks
|
John Ball helped Phoenix edge Plymouth by the score of 2-1. Phoenix reliever Bob Cook picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Ken Shelton absorbed the loss. Phoenix now sits at 21-36, while Plymouth falls to 28-29.
Jesús Mejía, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth. That's when he connected on a fastball from Ken Shelton for a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season put Phoenix in front, 2-1.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Phoenix manager David Márquez.
