Tight Tilt Goes to Dogfish Head, 4-1
|
John Ball pitched a good game, but his team, the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, still dropped a 4-1 decision to the Milton Dogfish Head at Thunderbirds Stadium. Robinson Suárez was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Santiago Paez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
A defensive miscue in the top of the ninth could have cost the Dogfish Head. With Milton leading 2-1, Alejandro Castillo reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 2 runs. In the end, Milton was still able to win the ballgame.
"We take it day by day here," said Castillo, "and today was a good one for us."
Phoenix, at 19-33, has lost 4 straight.
