Great Lakers Slip Past Royse City, 10-7
|
Alex Maxwell made an impact in the 10-7 Pure Michigan win over Royse City. Maxwell was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Pure Michigan reliever Noah Shellenbarger picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Frank Castle absorbed the loss. Rubén Rodríguez recorded the save for Pure Michigan, his 2nd of the season.
Jason Potter aided the Pure Michigan cause with a 2-run single in the top of the ninth. For the game, the right fielder went 2 for 4 with a double and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Pure Michigan Great Lakers manager Nick McLaughlin. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
