Tritons Hang 5-1 Loss on BC
|
Chávez never let Houston get something going. The Jersey City left-hander commanded his change up in pitching the Tritons to a win. The Tritons raised their record to 27-17.
The Tritons beat the BC in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the home run Marlon Randall produced in the bottom of the fifth. Batting against Houston pitcher Mike Owens, he gave his team a 3-1 lead when he hit a 2-run home run.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Jersey City Tritons manager Rich Harris, "I like our chances."
