Dogfish Head Rally For Late Win Over Great Lakers
|
The Milton Dogfish Head faced a tough opponent in Pure Michigan pitcher Cris Mendoza, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Lansing Park by a final score of 5-2. Mendoza went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Milton reliever Santiago Mesa picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. José Ortíz was saddled with the loss. Michael Brown earned the save, his 4th.
David Sánchez in the top of the ninth had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and the Dogfish Head leading 3-2, the Milton shortstop hit a 2-run single.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Sánchez told the Milton Chronicle.
Pure Michigan, at 26-16, has lost 4 straight.
