Great Lakers Come Back Late to Clip BC
|
The Houston BC got a superb performance from pitcher Bryan Palmer, but the Great Lakers still won the game, 3-2. Palmer was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. Esteban Ruíz earned the save for Pure Michigan, his 1st of the year. Pure Michigan has a 3-game win streak, while Houston has lost 3 in a row.
In the top of the 8th, third baseman António Padilla gave Pure Michigan the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Great Lakers had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out single off Houston pitcher Bryan Palmer changed that -- and Pure Michigan went on to win.
"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Padilla. "The only team that can beat us is us."
