The Royse City Targaryens knocked off the Bakersfield Nobles, 7-4, at Jerome Grounds. José Vargas, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Royse City won. The designated hitter went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Frank Castle got credit for the save for Royse City. It was his 2nd of the year. The 5th-place Targaryens improved to 15-15.
Felipe Campos contributed an important at-bat in the top of the eighth. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 2-run single. It was one at-bat that helped send Royse City to the win.
