Great Lakers Knock Off Phoenix at Lansing Park
|
The Pure Michigan Great Lakers downed the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 5-4, at Lansing Park. Nate Cates led the way, going 1-for-2 for Pure Michigan. Tsugahara Hori, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save. With the victory, the Great Lakers record now stands at 18-9.
Pure Michigan grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the sixth, when Cates, who is tied for 5th in the PAAA in RBI with 19, hit a 2-run home run. His 5th home run put the Great Lakers out in front, 5-4.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Cates told the Pure Michigan Chronicle.
