Dogfish Head Fall to .500 After Loss to Tritons
|
The Jersey City Tritons overcame a good performance by Milton first baseman Floyd Long to knock off Milton, 6-1, at Jersey City Grounds. Long went 1-2 with 2 walks. Carlos Medina picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Manny Pérez was tagged with the loss. The first-place Tritons have a one-game lead in their division.
Also contributing to the win was left fielder Wayne Akers, who stroked a run-scoring double in the bottom of the second for Jersey City. For the game, Akers went 1-3 with a double and a walk.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Jersey City Tritons manager Rich Harris.
