Nobles Suffer 5-2 Loss to Targaryens
|
The Royse City Targaryens got a stellar effort from pitcher Stanford McCain, helped Royse City score a 5-2 win over the visiting Bakersfield Nobles. McCain was the winning pitcher and moves to 2-2. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 4 walks. The save went to Emílio Zaragoza, his 2nd this season.
Royse City took the lead in the bottom of the seventh on a big hit from Fernando Rivera. On a 1-1 fastball from Kyung-un Yi, Rivera hit a 2-run single. That made it 3-1, Targaryens. For the day, Rivera went 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
"They played a better game than we did," said Bakersfield skipper James Wheeler.
