Braves Get Past Plymouth for 8-6 Win
|
The Gryfindor Braves knocked off the Plymouth Rocks, 8-6, at Cayuse Ballpark. Ignacio Medine, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Gryfindor won. The left fielder went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Gryfindor reliever Rodrigo Torres picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Grant White shouldered the loss. Biff Tannen closed the game out for Gryfindor, earning his 4th save.
The outcome might have been different had it not been for Medine. In the bottom of the eighth inning, when the Braves were trailing 6-5, Medine delivered a two-out 3-run home run for Gryfindor, giving his team the lead.
"I don't care about style points," Medine said. "I only care about winning."
With the win, Gryfindor pushes its record to 9-4.
