|
Michael Machen was superb against Mancelona. Machen, who is rated as the 15th best prospect by BNN, had a slider that was virtually unhittable at times. Losses have been rare for the Torch, who are now 9-3.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th. That's when Highwood first baseman Rodney Dudley, facing Rhett Abbott, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Hawks the 2-1 win.
"This place was electric at the end," Machen said.
