Seawolves Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Ghosts
|
Fans who gathered at The Graveyard saw a good contest between the Long Island Seawolves and Casper Ghosts.
Casper pitcher Raymond Allan gave the Seawolves all they could handle, but in the end, Long Island left The Graveyard with a 5-4 win. Allan allowed 1 earned run on 6 hits over 5.2 innings. WyDale Curry earned the win to go to 8-7. He allowed 4 earned runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and no strikeouts. Powell Beauregard nailed down his 5th save.
It could have been a different outcome for Long Island, had it not been for Fernando Pineda, the 24-year old first baseman . Pineda contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Long Island up, 5-4.
"Nice to get this one," said Pineda. "Wins have been hard to come by."
At 31-64, Long Island is in 11th place in the Menard's AA.
