Ottawa Beats Glendale, 7-6
|
The Ottawa Nationals stopped the Glendale Herons, 7-6, at Nationals Park. The Nationals got a big game from Jesús Mancía, who was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Ottawa reliever Ralph Ogstoun picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Donald Gregory took the loss. Neal Davis picked up the save, his 2nd.
Ottawa grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the sixth, when Mancía hit a grand slam home run. His 8th home run put the Nationals out in front, 7-4.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Mancía told a Ottawa Times reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
Even with the win, the Ottawa Nationals have a dismal 27-65 record.
